Resort 2025
For Resort 2025, Molly Goddard presents 10 dresses. The collection marks 10 years since Goddard’s first presentation.
Each dress features a T-shirt bodice framing an intricately constructed skirt, created using techniques developed and refined over the past decade. The designs explore core themes, silhouettes, colours, and textures that have been integral to the designer's work from the outset. The intrinsic qualities of tulle enable experimentation, with panels hand-smocked to a ratio of 10, layered on other densely smocked panels, some incorporating hundreds of metres of fabric. Various widths of hand-cut strips are gathered and applied by hand at varying intervals to create different textures. The colour of the tulle intensifying through its translucency as it is layered - the manipulation of the fabric creating the form and silhouette of the dress.
